Library Experience
I have worked in academic libraries for almost six years and I have also volunteered in a special library focusing on philately. These experiences have shaped my patron-driven philosophy of librarianship. I value connecting with patrons to address their information needs and to foster community between libraries and all patrons. Please read more about my current and past library work below.
Gemmill Engineering, Math, & Physics Library - University of Colorado Boulder
In my current position as Interim Branch Head of one of the five libraries on CU Boulder's campus, I supervise a team of six professional faculty and staff, foster collaboration, and ensure that library operations run smoothly.

Norlin Library - University of Colorado Boulder (CU)
Throughout my five years in my position as the Interdisciplinary Arts & Humanities Librarian at CU, I have taught over 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students, introducing them to library resources, inspiring them to think critically about the information that surrounds them, and engaging them in the process of inquiry. I also staff the reference desk, meet individually with students, and liaise between the library and students and faculty in the Religious Studies Department, Classics Department, and the Program in Jewish Studies. My passion for developing community through outreach is demonstrated by my role as a founding member of the Outreach Group. I have expanded finals study breaks in Norlin by bringing therapy dogs into the library, initiating meditation sessions, introducing a board game and coloring event, and hosting a CommuniTea coffee and tea event at the beginning & end of each semester. I have also created mobile-based scavenger hunts which introduce transfer, freshmen, and high school students to the library and its resources in a low-stakes, creative way.

Resnick Library - SUNY DelhiAs a Reference & Instruction Librarian at SUNY Delhi, I taught over 500 students in library instruction sessions, staffed the reference desk and chat with a librarian service an average of 12 hours per week, and engaged in outreach activities, especially through drop-in library sessions about how to create citations and workshops where I taught students how to juggle and make their own juggling balls as a way to de-stress near finals. I worked to foster information literacy throughout all academic programs through the Writing Across the Curriculum project and initiated the History Collection Development Team whose goal was to strengthen the History collection.

Auraria Library - University of Colorado DenverAs a Research & Instruction Graduate Assistant, I taught over 300 students how to navigate library resources and the research process through library instruction sessions and one-on-one consultations. I initiated a scavenger hunt activity for freshmen and created and maintained research guides, such as a guide on the topic of Bibliotherapy. I provided excellent customer service and reference assistance to a diverse population of college students at the Research Help Desk and through online chat, answering over 900 reference questions throughout my time at Auraria.
